“Two very young people, the sort who’ll stay very young until they suddenly find themselves old.”

The rains of March have given way to a sunny, pristine April Fool’s Day as I send out recent explorations and findings.

Around the Bay – Magical Restaurant 1833: It’s worth a trip down to Monterey for Restaurant 1833, truly the whole package from transporting interior to top notch food, wine and cocktails.

Top Tastes – Improving with Age: Two restaurants continue to get better with each visit over the past year as they’ve either opened or gained a new chef and approach.

Imbiber: With a new bar manager, Heaven’s Dog cocktails still shine, while a newer line of tequilas are elegant and approachable.

Wandering Traveler – Canada: I explore wine in Niagara-On-The-Lake during the annual Icewine Festival as a guest of the great Inniskillin winery.

I’d love your feedback on any spots visited from my site. As your personal concierge who tells it to you like a good friend would, I also create personalized itineraries: trips, meals, explorations (under “Services“).

Let me guide you to the perfect spot,

Virginia
