“The countryside… My green cathedral… It was there that my heart was saying its most fervent hymns, that my eyes learned the secrets of looking, my taste buds the flavor of game and of the vegetable garden, and my nose the elegance of fragrances.”— The Gourmet/Gourmet Rhapsody by Muriel Barbery

It’s been a sweet, full month home from Louisville and Chicago as I prep for a month in Scandinavia, London and spirits judging in England. This gorgeous weekend was ideal for checking out the rich food, comedians, DJ and hip hop fun of Clusterfest for the first time, featuring some of the biggest comedians in the world at SF’s Civic Center Plaza and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

A call out to bartenders nationwide: I am a judge for BevCon’s official cocktail competition presented by The Perfect Puree of Napa Valley, leading up to their drink industry conference in LA’s Koreatown this August. Winning bartender recipe gets an all-access pass to the three-day event, including three nights at the very cool The LINE Hotel where BevCon is held and drink presented at the closing party? National bartenders can enter their own cocktail until June 30th here.
